Ickford School

A Warm Welcome to Ickford School ...

Welcome to Ickford School—a happy, high-achieving, inclusive and nurturing community at the heart of the picturesque village of Ickford, Buckinghamshire.

At Ickford, we believe that every child is unique, with their own talents, interests and needs. Our aim is to recognise and nurture these individual qualities so that every pupil can flourish—academically, personally and socially. We are proud to be a school where children love learning, take pride in their behaviour, and show genuine care and respect for one another and the world around them.

We are equally proud of our consistently high academic standards. Our Year 6 pupils achieve excellent results in Key Stage 2 SATs, regularly placing Ickford among the top-performing primary schools in Buckinghamshire and within the top 1% nationally. These outcomes reflect the dedication of our talented teaching team, the strength of our supportive community, and the high expectations we hold for every child.

Our committed and experienced staff deliver a broad, exciting and engaging curriculum designed to both challenge and inspire. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities, enabling us to offer a rich range of co-curricular opportunities, from creative arts to a varied offer of  sports and outdoor learning. All pupils learn French, with Year 6 pupils also studying German and some taking on a third language—Latin. Music is an integral part of school life: every child learns to read, compose and perform music, beginning with the recorder in Key Stage 1 and progressing to the violin in Key Stage 2.

Beyond the classroom, we offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs and our pupils enjoy taking part in inter-county competitions.

We firmly believe that education is most effective when home and school work in close partnership. Open and honest communication between staff, trustees and parents is central to our approach, and we work closely with families to support every child in achieving their very best.

While our website offers a snapshot of life at Ickford, nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We warmly invite you to visit, meet our wonderful pupils and staff, and discover what makes Ickford such a special place to learn and grow.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Warm regards,
